Councilor Pepén co-sponsors Ordinance to Expedite City Transportation Projects

Enrique Pepén, the Boston City Councilor for District 5 — representing Hyde Park, Mattapan, Readville and Roslindale — and City Council President Liz Breadon have co-sponsored an Ordinance Mandating Annual Reporting of Streets Projects, which was filed at the July 22nd 2026 council meeting. Councilor Pepén wrote to Rozzie Bikes to request community support in favor of this measure to expedite transportation projects that fulfill Boston’s promise for safer street design and sustainability.

Here is the explanation: Every neighborhood deserves transparency and accountability when it comes to the projects that impact their daily lives. By keeping residents informed and strengthening oversight, we can build trust and work toward safer, more accessible streets for all Bostonians.

We urge you to contact the mayor in support of this ordinance.
